Okay, so what is the first question you might have when looking at the title.... let me guess what the heck is 5:2 and Training? No, I am not psychic, I just had the exact same question when I read the title. The 5:2 concept is five days of regular eating and 2 days of fasting or very low calorie eating. The 5:2 diet however needs a workout component of 3 days to be effective according to the author Niclas Brunnegard.
The book is written to include the articles he cites at the end if you want to look further into where he got his information and how to follow the diet. For the low calorie or fasting portion he recommends 500 calories for women and 600 for men. That being said it does seem like a very low calorie amount, but he includes several recipes to accompany it and help you keep with the diet.
As for my personal opinion on the book I will say that it well written and cited but the whole logic behind it is not something that I feel comfortable with. That being said, I did not try it. I don't like the feeling of being hungry so this is not a diet that works for my personality, but if your good at fasting this may be for you.

With all the get fit resolutions this year, I am sure many of you are starting to run. I know I am and although my attempts at being a runner aren't to the level I would like, tracking my distance is very motivating. I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review the Ozeri 4x3runner Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer with Tri-Axis Technology and Dual Walking & Running modes. The Ozeri Pedometer is a very advanced tool as it is able to track your distance for the month, record Daily steps, distance, calories, fat burned and exercise time accurately. Utilizing the 3D Tri-Axis Sensor the Ozeri detection motion in X, Y, & Z planes to provide accurate position.
The new Steps2Goal feature tracks and calculates your steps toward your daily goal and displays progress. It will store up to 1 million steps within it's built in memory although, I am no where near the limit yet on mine, I am glad to know eventually when I am running more I should be able to track an entire month easily. My only minor trouble with it was the programming it, without the manual it's not feasible, but with as many functions it offers I am not surprised. However, the quick guide got me up and running in minutes. If all the features are to be utilized then taking a couple of minutes to read the manual is definitely worth it.
When it comes to aging, the worst part is when you start to see the wrinkles set in. At thirty, I hate to admit I am starting to get some on my forehead. Looking at my mom's face I anticipate, that I will have them at the corners of my eyes and mouth as well as my forehead. You know the typical smile lines. I guess I could just except them as a product of time, but if I want to stop the wrinkles I already have setting in and help fight the ones I am most likely to have, I need to use a good quality face cream. Ageless Derma offers a high quality Stem Cell and Peptide Anti Wrinkle cream and I was fortunate enough to have the chance to try it.

As many of you know I am a dystopian fiction fan, and Second Life (Life First 2) by RJ Crayton definitely fits the bill. Having enjoyed the Life First very much, being the first in the series, it set up the world of FoSS as you can see in my review linked above. That being said, Second Life was albeit did not contain the same level of action as the it's predecessor.
Spoilers to Life First to follow:
I recieved an e-copy of Life First, in exchange for my honest opinon. I received no other compensation.
What would you do if it was your civil responsibility to donate one of your organs to whomever needed it and was a match? What if the government in exchange for your inclusion as a citizen was contingent on giving up the right to choose if you are willing to donate? What if you were considered a criminal or a sociopath for refusing? At what point is being a citizen give away the rights to your own body?
In Life First, RJ Crayton, takes you to the post pandemic United States renamed FoSS . The citizens of FoSS rebuilt the society with the basis of a life first mantra, with the number one priority of all those who live in the society to be life of all above your individual choice. Individuals are not given the choice as to whether or not they donate organs, it is mandated and once your marked, failure to comply is criminal. The book begins with the female protagonist Kelsey Reed marked for surgery as another citizen of FoSS is sick and needs a kidney transplant. Kelsey doesn't know this person, nor has any tie to them and in her heart of hearts she feels it is wrong to be forced to give up a piece of herself.
I felt a instant connection with the character of Kelsey, I felt as though the author painted a picture of her as being a good person willing to go above and beyond, however not willing to compromise on her personal beliefs. In this she is a very strong character despite her described stature and age. At 23, Kelsey takes on the established system and with the help of the other characters faces some major hurtles of adversity. RJ Crayton's dystopian world of FoSS, and Kelsey's story is a social commentary giving you the opportunity to see some of the extremes of taking away choice in Healthcare.
I recommend reading this book, to help keep in mind that choices are vital in life and respecting the wishes of the patient should be of utmost importance in medical care. I also think it's a fun read that takes you through some thrilling events in the life of Kelsey Reed.
Have you ever been sitting in a car seat belt wrapped around the front of you and have it lock? You know, the lock where you had just taken a deep breath sucking in your tummy just enough to get uncomfortable. Try having that happen while your pregnant. Yes, its awful, well with the Dreambaby® Bump Belt™ that isn't a problem. The Dreambaby® Bump Belt™ the belt at your hip bones away from your tummy or baby in this case avoiding the locking down too tight. Although, an awesome feature, this is not the main intention of using it.
This Holiday we had the opportunity to try out some of Nestle's Holiday candy collection and I have to say we really enjoyed the options they provided. We were given the Nestle Pixie Stick Candy canes and Holiday Nerds. The Pixie stick candy canes were a huge hit with the kids, they really enjoyed the pixie stick in the center of a super flavorful candy cane. That being said, they produced a lot of "red drool" from the kiddos, which if you have light furniture isn't ideal. But, with older children this shouldn't be a problem
