Beyond Solitude by Kit Rocha
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Risking everything Mia escaped a life as a companion in Sector two to escape to freedom in sector 4. Sector 4 is a dangerous sector only contained from Wild west like behavior by the powerful gang lead by O'Kane. With the help of a woman who escaped before her Mia gets a job as the assistant to Derek Ford, one of O'Kane's top guys. Derek isn't exactly easy to work for and it will take a lot of effort on Mia's part to tame the anger in Derek fueled by a motorcycle accident injury.
This story goes beyond that of just romance, everything about Mia puts Ford's protective instincts on high alert. I like that along the way you can see beyond their situation there are other factors that change the way women and men think and how they see themselves. I think the author did a great job at highlighting the difference is an extreme situation sort of way. I love the steamy scenes, definitely gets a thumbs up for that aspect.
