Disclosure: I got this product for free to try, however opinions are 100% my own. I also am not a doctor, I am a mother my medical opinion is not a valid for you to take as advice, other than that of a friend giving you her honest opinion. If you are concerned about your child please contact your pediatrician.
As a mother of young children you can imagine my anguish when both kids are sick and I am scrambling to the drugstore looking for anything to give my little ones relief only to find out they aren't old enough for anything I could find. A million thoughts run through my head all of which aren't very nice about the situation and I leave the store empty handed and twice as frustrated. I'd call my pediatrician asking for any advice and the only advice I would get would be to use a humidifier. Which as many of you can attest, does help, but doesn't help with the pain the kids feel. So then I am forced to give them something for the pain which is within age limits which only soothe the pain temporarily. That was all until I was given Children's Chestal Honey by Boiron to review.
Chestal is a non-drowsy, dye-free, homeopathic medicine made with natural honey to help relieve children's cough. It is specifically designed for children 2 & Up and from our experience thus far it really works. When given to Luke (age 2) during one of our recent cold battles (ahh daycare the petri dish of the toddler world) it soothed his cough enough to get some real sleep. In combination with our humidifier, Chestal allowed him to get the much needed sleep so that his body could fight whatever was plaguing it. I am so thankful that something has come along, that I can give them. I know most cold medicines such as Chestal are only to relieve the discomfort of the symptoms, but why until now was there is nothing to relieve the little one's symptoms.
