This Holiday we had the opportunity to try out some of Nestle's Holiday candy collection and I have to say we really enjoyed the options they provided. We were given the Nestle Pixie Stick Candy canes and Holiday Nerds. The Pixie stick candy canes were a huge hit with the kids, they really enjoyed the pixie stick in the center of a super flavorful candy cane. That being said, they produced a lot of "red drool" from the kiddos, which if you have light furniture isn't ideal. But, with older children this shouldn't be a problem
We also received Frosty Nerds, and although originally I was slated to try to make a recipe with them however their flavors really didn't lend to baking well. Despite the wonderful flavors that they are in themselves traditional holiday baking really doesn't do well with watermelon, wild cherry and punch, but that did not stop them from being wonderful stocking stuffers. The colors however would lend very beautifully for a Candy house, I could see these as beautiful lights or a "gravel" walk. The vibrant colors would be a beautiful addition. For us however they just tasted too good so we didn't want to use them on a candy house, we gobbled them up too quickly.
The best part I find is that both options, actually all the options from Nestle are super economical at less than 3.00 a box for the candy canes they were all solid and hung well on the tree for although a short time due to sneaky little ones,
Nestle will be on the top of my list next year for holiday candy canes, as they really were some of the best flavored candy canes I have tasted.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
