Being a full time scientist, a full time mom and a part time blogger so as you can imagine, I need to keep my life in order. At work I have planners, calendars and online scheduler to help keep me on task and on time. Unfortunately until recently I didn’t have a planner for the rest of my life. This however, has been remedied, I received the Academic Planner from Order Out of Chaos to review and I have found it is a useable planner. Ideally, it is designed for students to keep them hour by hour time managed however it also works for me as a mom and a blogger. I can use the month at a glance page to map out things for quick reference, but then also go to the individual day page to add details such as time of appointment or which day my reviews are planned. However, the way I use it isn’t for what it was designed check out the student academic planning features in the video below:
Relative to other planners I’d say that they are at least as good durability wise, as the brands you’d pick up at any general store around school time, but it includes a several features that sets it apart for a student. There is a tab for subjects that you can fill out once for the entire year which is nice. There is also an extra column by time that allows for them to manage their extracurriculars as well and learn to time manage. This is very useful and if your child is organized this could really be a great tool. My main criticism of it would be that the time isn’t easy to find the specific day that you are working off of in a rush. There is no built in bookmark or easy to shift by month tabs, that being said it is a very small thing that would be nice to have, in the future editions.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
