If you have been exposed to any girl ages 6-15 in the last year then you may not have seen these Loom band bracelets like the ones seen above. These bracelets are the "it" thing, they have replaced the friendship bracelets of my youth and are all the rage. However, when you are at the store trying to buy them typically they are pretty expensive for the bands to create it. For an average sized bracelet you can easily use 50 bands, so when the looms come with a 100 bands they really aren't providing much and not all the bands are created equal. Sometimes the bands are weak and you spend a ton of time making a bracelet only to have it snap the first time you wear it.
When given the opportunity to review the Rainbow Loom Bands Refill 5400 pack of bands I thought, wow that's a lot of bands. And, yes it is a lot of bands but that is really a good thing. The bands come in packs of 600 of all the 8 of the hottest colors, each includes the clips and plastic crochet hook to make the bracelet. The high quality of these bands goes beyond the way they look however. They are sturdy bands made of organic latex free materials so there is no concern for latex allergies and they won't snap while making them.
I was pretty in awe of how many bands 5400 really is, this is a perfect size pack for a group or to spoil the band fanatics in your life. The one drawback of buying in bulk however is storage, unlike when you get the small number with the loom, with 5400 you need to be able to use some then save them. At first I used ziploc bags which worked out well, however now I have a loom band organizer review to come shortly.
