Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to review the Wizarding World Comic Con for free that however did not change opinion.

Friday night kicked off the first night of the Wizarding World Comic Con Sacramento and it definitely started it off right. This family friendly event was a playground for nerds and geeks alike. Rarely do I get a chance to let me geek flag fly, however this weekend I got that chance and then some.  For the most part my buddy Eric and I were and are noobs (newbies) to the whole Comic con scene so we had little idea of what to expect. So what did we do we started and one end and literally worked our way to the other checking out everything we could possibly see. The first half of the show mainly consisted of vendors highlighting all the geek gear you could possibly want. That was by and far the most fun for me because well it was like shopping online in person. The wide variety of vendors ranged from costumers to tattoo artists and everything in between. I finally found a necklace that is subtly geeky at one of these vendors and I am super excited. Its a Time turner just like the one Hermione from Harry Potter wears. Yep, I am stoked.

In the mix of all these cool vendors you could see the varying level of Cosplayers. The cosplayers were by and far one of the major highlights. Below you can see one of the coolest ones I had the opportunity to see. So he is Dr. Octopus from Spiderman the movie, the comic character wears a green suit so for my comic book elite readers I wanted to differentiate. This was only one of the hundreds of super epic costumes I saw. It was like Halloween only less sexualized, and I loved every minute of it.

Also, it was nice to be able see some of the most talented artists I have ever had the opportunity see work, all in one place. I really enjoyed that you have the opportunity to purchase signed pieces and the artists many times will sign them for you. One of the coolest things in my opinion was that you could pay to have one of the Simpson Artists draw you into a Simpsons character. For hardcore Simpson fans that would be an epic gift.  Plus, the artist signs it.

When we arrived they also gave us a list of activities ranging from short film showings to Video game tournaments that will go on throughout the weekend. If you get a chance to head over there I would highly recommend it. If not head out to the next one you will most definitely not be disappointed.
