If pictures say a thousand words this one is a thousand words for pure joy. We were given the opportunity to check out the Yo Gabba Gabba Live Get the Sillies Out Tour in Sacramento and I have to say I have never seen Luke so happy. We expected him to enjoy the show due to the fact he is a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba, but I had no idea it would be so much fun for all of us. From the moment we arrived the excitement was electric. Kids and parents alike dressed in costume and eager for the fun to begin.
From the moment the lights went down the cheering began and as DJ Lance took to screen Luke and Lily became entranced, and the moment he jumped onto stage the fun began. The show began with the opening scene of any show bringing to life Foofa, Muno, Brobee, Toodee and Plex with the audience chant of Yo Gabba Gabba! Once all the characters were on stage the music began and so did the dancing! From Jumpy, Jump to Peek-a-Boo Lily, Luke and I sung along and danced the first half away. Just when it was getting to time for our throats to all get a bit hoarse from the cheering, there was an intermission that lasted about 20 minutes. Which is ideal when you are at a show designed for 5 and under as although, there was no lack of attention grabbing entertainment, many poor little bladders can't handle an hour without a break.
After we were back from the break the fun began again and the crowd literally couldn't remain in their seats. I actually suspect that had any of the Yo Gabba Gabba characters jumped into the crowd they could have surfed through all the toddlers and parents. When they started singing Bubbles, the room began to fill up with bubbles as these high powered bubble machines shot out thousands of bubbles within seconds it was so much fun and everyone loves bubbles. As the show progressed Biz Markee came out and you'd think it was a concert as a huge number of parents began to rush the stage to get closer to him, it was actually a sight to be seen. Biz Markee called up several kids up to stage and they helped him beat box it was really cool to watch. When the show was closing they began to sing the Goodbye song and I loved to see Luke and Lily singing along and waving. From all the excitement let's just say it was a very quiet ride home as they both passed out.
You know it's a great night when it ends with two happy babies asleep in the backseat and two proud parents grinning ear from ear in the front. We would go see Yo Gabba Gabba Live again in a heartbeat. I hope you have the opportunity to see the show as it really is a memorable event for all ages!
